From this month onwards, the 500 years of Brazil take on a new resonance abroad,
in the exhibition by the Rio artist Christina Oiticica. Invited by the Centre
Social e Culturel Franco-Brésilien / Chapelle Humanité, Christina
will occupy a gallery with her installation House of Time. It is a meticulous
assembly of small pieces - pearls, objects, seashells, crucifixes, sand, velvet,
circular openings - which as a whole explore various iconographic elements, with
strong echoes from the feminine universe. Christina inaugurates the commemorations
of the 500 years of Brazil in this 17th century house, which will also house exhibitions
by other well-known Brazilian artists. From 16th May to 14th June, Centre Social
